Rooted Out

A UK charity aims to harness the amazing power of video games to invoke empathy in its players and to support the United Nations World Refugee Day, held annually on the 20th June. World Refugee Day | UNHCR They are inviting pitches from developers to create a game with the theme of ‘The Journey’ that helps engage and inform the player about the refugee experience.

Synopsis: Rooted Out follows a refugee, Jayce, who is avoiding being captured or killed by human traffickers by fleeing through a forest after being chased into it. Jayce, in a moment of desperation, fled his home after traffickers took his siblings. Jayce must now use his wits to evade and outsmart his pursuers. Jayce cannot avoid confrontation with his pursuers, but he must outwit and adapt to different situations that he must get through.
